National Markings

This section describes and illustrates the various national insignia used by the Fleet Air Arm since its formation:


Main MarkingFin Flash

First Line Types
The main marking is displayed in 6 positions (ie above and below each wing, and on each side of the fuselage) on aircraft - but on fuselage sides only on helicopters. No fin flash is carried. Navy types display the service title ROYAL NAVY on the tailfin or fuselage sides.
