Albatros ALKA
One Albatros ALKA delivered in 1940. The ALKA was a low-wing monoplane, designed by the Slovenian physicist Anton Kuhelj to meet a mid-1939 JKRV requirement for a new basic trainer to replace the Fizir FN biplane. The designation ALKA derived from ALbatros Kuhelj Anton. The prototype ALKA was powered by a 132 hp Gipsy Major engine and faced competition from the Rogozarski Brucos (Freshman) and the Ikrarus Aero 2. After evaluation the Aero 2 was selected and development of the ALKA was terminated. The fate of the prototype is not known.
