Albatros Niro
The Albatros Niro was 3-seat reconnaissance monoplane designed to replace the Breguet 19 and Potez 25 in the Army Air Force. The designers were Sinisa Nikolic and Aleksander Rotov - hence the Ni-Ro designation, later simplified to Niro. Construction of the prototype Niro started in Spring 1940 and was completed in March 1941. The powerplant was a 680 hp Wright Cyclone GR-1820-F56 radial engine, although production versions were expected to have a 600 hp IAM K-9 engine. The prototype was destroyed in the April 1941 war before it could make it's first flight.
