Aircraft Types
Breguet 14
At least sixty Breguet 14 obtained from May 1917 onwards. The Breguet 14 initially served with the joint French/Serbian air units of the Eastern Army on the Salonica Front, with about 17 Bre 14 A2 serving in the reconaissance role, and at least one Breguet 14 B2 bomber. Escadrilles included BR 522, BR 524 and BR 525. Twenty-four examples were inherited from the Serbian Air Force, 12 more were obtained from the Aéronautique l'Armée d'Orient, and 25 direct from France in the early 1920s. These included some Breguet 14E2 two-seat trainers and Breguet 14S air ambulances. In 1923 one aircraft was converted into a Breguet 14T cabin version with provision for two passengers.
The aircraft were supplied with 300 hp Renault Fcx engines. One aircraft was fitted with a 260 hp Fiat A-12 engine, and one with a 260 hp Maybach MbIVa engine. In 1932 the surviving aircraft were refitted with 400 hp Lorraine-Dietrich 12Db engines. Withdrawn from service in the mid 1930s.
