The unit was formed with some C-47 Skytrain from the Grupo de Aviación 3 (Transporte) on 18.6.1951. The group was disbanded in 1994, when the Escuadrón Aéreo 3 (Transporte) was established.

Grupo de Aviación 6 (Transporte)

of the Uruguayan Air Force

History

In 1975 The Grupo de Aviación 3 (Transporte) received some Embraer EMB-110C Bandeirante, but these aircraft formed on 13.1.1976 a new transport unit, the Grupo de Aviación 6 (Transporte). The group was disbanded in 1994, when the Escuadrón Aéreo 3 (Transporte) was established.

Grupo Aéreo de Entrenamiento y Transporte

of the Paraguayan Air Force

History

The unit was formed in 1966. From 1972 a Sección de Helicópteros was part of Grupo Aéreo de Entrenamiento y Transporte with 2 Bell 47G and 8 Bell OH-13H. On January 2, 1985 the unit was expanded and became Escuadrón de Helicópteros. Transporte Aéreo Militar (TAM) is part of this unit. The group was split in 1988 and the Grupo Aéreo de Entrenamiento and the Grupo de Transporte Aéreo became operational.

of the Paraguayan Air Force

History

The unit was formed as Sección de Helicópteros in 1972 as part of Grupo Aéreo de Entrenamiento y Transporte with 2 Bell 47G and 8 Bell OH-13H. On January 2, 1985 the unit was expanded and became Escuadrón de Helicópteros and got its current designation on September 14, 1988.

Grupo de Transporte Aéreo

History

The unit has its origins in the Grupo Aéreo de Entrenamiento y Transporte. The group was split in 1988 and the Grupo Aéreo de Entrenamiento and the Grupo de Transporte Aéreo became operational. Many aircraft are jointly used by the Transporte Aéreo Militar (TAM) and the Grupo de Transporte Aéreo.
