First published in 1961, this is the official newspaper of the Royal Air Force. It carries the latest operational news, features on topical issues and life in the Service, developments in military aviation and air power, and reviews of significant events and changing times during the history of the RAF – as well as reports on the diverse activities of people throughout the extended RAF family, be they in uniform, the Reserves, the Air Training Corps or one of the many RAF associations. The newspaper is on sale every fortnight through newsagents or is available on annual subscription.
Recent issues are printed on glossy paper in tabloid format, with at least 24 pages in each issue and illustrated by many b+w and colour photographs. In the late 1990s the masthead title was shortened to ‘RAF News’. Also reported with the ISSN: 0035-8614.
