Title means Military History. Monthly magazine of military history, especially dedicated to the Italian Armies in WW2. Covers army, navy and air force history; Italian Defence Forces history. Recent issues include a regular feature with original colour photos of Italian WW2 aircraft. 60 pages in each issue. First issue dated October 1993. Issue No.76 was dated January 2000.

First published in 1983, and ceased publication in that year after 10 issues. Covered world defence topics: International armed forces news; army, navy and air forces articles; ships, vehicles and aircraft fact files. Considered a very bad attempt at reviving a combined version of “Aviazione & Marina” and “Eserciti & Armi”.

Tutto Modellismo

Aviation-related Magazines Guide

Title translates as Total Modelling. Covers all aspects of scale modelling: news, reviews, hints and techniques, conversions etc. Models covered included vehicles, aircraft, figures etc. 66 pages in each issue. Published for seven years between 1993 and 2000. Ceased publication with the December 2000 issue, in favour of an Italian edition of the Spanish magazine ‘Euro Modelismo’. Total of at least 76 issues published. The same publisher also produced at least 8 Monografie modelling guidebooks.

VOLARE

Aviation-related Magazines Guide

Description

The title ‘Volare’ translates as Flying. It included articles on on every aspect of civil, military, commercial aviation, flying schools and aeronautic sports – all in clear and understandable language. ‘Volare’ was always on the scene of current events with in depth reports, together with spectacular photography and articles by well known writers. It was a popular aviation magazine aimed at pilots. Each issue included a monthly supplement called ‘Volare Sport’ (which see) which was devoted to ultralights and sport flying. There were about 80 pages in each issue. Following a financial crisis at the publisher, the title was relaunched in May 2013 after undergoing a substantial redesign. Unfortunately, this was not successful and the magazine closed for good in Novembr 2013.

First issue on sale 1980. Published monthly until issue no.359 (November 2013) when it was closed down.

Volare Sport

Aviation-related Magazines Guide

Description

‘Volare Sport’ was a magazine dedicated to ultralights and sport flying. Although it was distributed as a supplement to the monthly magazine ‘Volare’, it was separately stapled and had its own front cover. Each issue was identified as “allegato al” (attached to) the applicable issue of ‘Volare’. It not clear how many pages where in each issue, but is was probably more than 20.

Official bi-monthly periodical of the Italian Air Force. Established 1925. 110-126 pages each issue, A4 size, with b+w and colour photos, no drawings. Covers; aviation and space activities, Italian AF news, military affairs, parliament, book reviews etc.
