Aviation-related Magazines Guide


‘Volo’ was a private flying magazine published in the 1950s. It was originally launched with the subtitle Quindicinale dell’Aero Club d’Italia, and contained only about 12 pages. By 1956 it had the subtitle Mensile di vita aeronautica, indicating a change of publishing frequency to monthly. Around 1960 it adopted the distinctive yellow cover design that made it stand out from other publications.

Publishing History

First issue on sale 1951. Published fortnightly (every two weeks) until sometime before 1956, by which time it had become monthly. Publication ceased in 1964.
The editor is unknown.

Bi-monthly scale aircraft modelling magazine. First issue dated Oct-Nov 2001. Contents includes extended kit reviews, super-detailing of models, technical description of a specific aircraft type – describing all it’s variants, close-up detail photo essays, air show reports, decal news, model kit and accesories news etc. Circa 66-68 pages in each issue, with many colour photos and drawings.

Tutto Aerei

Aviation-related Magazines Guide

First published in 1999 with the subtitle Air Catalogo. Contents comprised a series of articles, each dealing with a different civil airliner. From issue 4 the subtitled was dropped and a substational amount of military aviation coverage introduced. Irregular publication with usually 2 issues per year. The latest issue is number 11. Very high quality colour photos accompany each article.
