The Oman Royal Flight was first established circa 1974 to provide VIP Transport for Sultan. Helicopters were added in 1975. The Flight has expanded considerably since its formation.

Royal Flight aircraft carry a red and green fuselage cheetline and the national ‘crossed swords and dagger’ symbol in black on the forward fuselage. The national flag is used as a fin stripe. No service titles are carried.
