History

Three Arava 201s obtained new from the manufacturer and delivered in 1985. Used by ‘A’ Flight of the Air Transport Squadron. Withdrawn from service in 1989. One example returned to service in 2006, but retired again after 2007.

History

Four C-47B ex-RAAF aircraft donated by Australia and delivered from August 1975. Two more obtained 1981-1982. Used by the Air Transport squadron. Retired in 1988 and put into storage at Jackson Airort. Most later sold to civil operators.

Aircraft Details

History

Four UH-1H donated by Australia in August 1989 under Project Wit Koki. A fifth ex-civil example was delivered in 1992. Used by the Air Transport Wing. Retired in 1991? due to lack of funds. One returned to service in 2006, followed by a second at later date. [Note: Sources differ significantly on the exact c/n to serial tie-ups. Scramble and WAFD agree with each other, but do not match RAAF data. The latter is used here.]

use of the CASA CN235M-100

in Papua New Guinea Defence Force Service

History

Two CASA-built CN235M-100 obtained direct from the manufacturer in 1991. Used by the Air Transport Squadron. (Nurtanio-built aircraft with these construction numbers went to the RoKAF). Both aircraft were withdrawn shortly after arrival due to funding shortages, but one aircraft was returned to service in 2006.
