Unit History


 Grupo 1 de Caza-Bombardeo

 

Role: Fighter/Attack.


The unit was formed on 1.1.1960 with twelve MS.760 Paris and some I.A. 35 Huanquero operated by Escuadrón I. When all North American F-86F Sabre arrived in country on 10.12.1960 the unit was reorganised with Escuadrón I Operativo with F-86F Sabre and Escuadron II Adiestramiento with MS.760 Paris. After a reorganisation in 1972 this unit became Grupo 4 de Operaciones.

 

 

Escuadrón I Operativo

Role: Fighter/Attack.

The unit was formed on 1.1.1960 with twelve MS.760 Paris and nineteen FMA I.Ae. 35 Huanquero. When all North American F-86F Sabre arrived in country on 10.12.1960 the unit was reorganised as Escuadrón I Operativo with F-86F Sabre and the MS.760 Paris and FMA I.Ae. 35 Huanquero are now operated by Escuadron II Adiestramiento.

Escuadrón II Adiestramiento

Role: Training.

When all North American F-86F Sabre arrived in country on 10.12.1960 the Grupo 1 de Caza-Bombardeo was reorganised as Escuadrón I Operativo with F-86F Sabre and the MS.760 Paris and FMA I.Ae. 35 Huanquero are now operated by Escuadron II Adiestramiento.
